Bea Garding-Schubert

I have taken a clear desicion: To create art, for me, is power and confidence. My paintings should be a carrier of hope. How does an artist handle the unpleasantness the world sometimes brings? Showing it is one possibility or making it even more unpleasant than it is. Instead, I decided to show beauty and hope.

My latest series „open world“ is talking about this. Titles like „open cages“, "open your heart“ and  „I saw a new heaven" are full of light and warmth. Hope is always the main theme. Apon first looking at my paintings, you see abstraction. After revisiting my work, you discover objects like small persons and flying birds.

I am using expressive colours shaping the interplay of either opaque or transparancy, as well as blending into each other. The depth of my paintings evokes some distant memories. But for the most part, the scenery is portrayed as that of a bright and associative playful present. Inspired by the street art of New York, I love to spray paint.

I am born in Germany. After studying I travelled around the world for 8 years. Then I settled down, first in Canary Islands and later in Mallorca. I am showing my artwork all around the world, - Art Beijing, Barcelona, New York, Art.Fair Luxembourg, San Francisco. Some paintings are in property of the German embassy in Athens.
