Marek Emczek Olszewski

Beauty and Poetry in the mundane, Moving imaginations

Marek Emczek Olszewski was born in the picturesque, medieval mountain town of Bielsko-Biala, Poland. Marek started taking photos when he was in his teens whilst the country was freshly removing its shackles via the Solidarność movement.  His early work bears the nascent signs of his present and much acclaimed work with its use of vivid colours, striking silhouette, shadow, reflection and impressionist photography, showing that anything, notably the mundane, can be transformed by light. He is an artist who uses the lens in different ways, and presents his work in its most natural and original forms. He burst on to the London scene in 2011 with a solo exhibition in Camden, London, reported in the trendy press title, Out in the City, there then followed a chain reaction from other press titles in Europe and the other side of the Atlantic (Artesemos, Spain; Dot 429, San Francisco.)

He has consolidated his success with prizes awarded featured in the UK national press (BBC, The Independent) by RICS, CIC, and the Centre for UK Migration. His work has been auctioned alongside Tracy Emin and Ken Howard at The Royal College of Arts. Exhibited in London, Brighton, Kent, Barcelona, Brussels and South France.
